Twining visits aim at reinforcing the ENGINE Centre potential in the following research areas:

  • Cooperation between academia and industry in the domain of network intelligence; BTH has long tradition and much experience in collaboration with industry, in particular with telecoms (e.g. Ericsson); almost all PhD programmes and most MSc are carried out with companies
  • Application of methodologies known from social network analysis (SNA) to telecom networks
  • Modelling of telecom networks
  • Sensor networks
  • Security issues in large data processing and trustworthy communication in networks
  • Mobile IT technologies developed in co-operation with Ericsson company
  • Artificial intelligence in health domain
  • Sustainable development in industry and society by means of usage of intelligent systems and services as well as multi-agent technologies
  • Computer-aided planning, transport studies, urban regeneration in industrial and residential areas.

Incoming visits of the experienced researchers from other countries:
    2 Short-term visits (duration up to 2 weeks)
    1 Middle-term visits (duration from 2 weeks to 2 months)
Outgoing visits of the ENGINE staff members to partnering organization:
    2 Short-term visits (duration up to 2 weeks)
    1 Middle-term visits (duration from 2 weeks to 2 months)

Recent collaboration of WrUT with BTH also includes the double diploma programme for MSc students, which started in 2006, Erasmus-based exchange of teachers and students, as well as organization of scientific events in the field of multi-agent systems and social-based services.
